1948 Harley Panhead Basket Case
WANTED! 1948 Harley Panhead Basket Case! I'm looking for a 1948 Harley Davidson Panhead (FL)basket case to work on.
If you have one or know of someone that has one for sale or if you have one, please email using the space below provided by Strike Lightning
Used Motorcycles for Sale (and PLEASE include your contact information!).
Strike Lightning would also encourage bikers to submit a review of the
1948 Harley Panhead Basket Case if you have ever restored one to make the biker community aware of any problems that are common to the restoration of this motorcycle or to shine the spotlight on its positive features and help potential restoration artists know what they're up against before jumping in over their heads and starting a project that might be too much for their level of skills or finding they can't find the 1948 Harley Davidson Panhead parts that they need to get the vintage motorcycle together and running.
History of the 1948 Panhead: The 1948 Harley Davidson Panhead is said to be the motorcycle that established the Harley Davidson motorcycle company as the premier post WWII bike manufacturer. Perhaps the most famous feature of its design was the "wishbone" tubular frame, to the rear fender mounted saddlebags and the rocker covers that reminded somebody of upside-down cake pans hence the nickname Panhead.
