1974 Yamaha MX 400 Motorcycle for Sale

The 1974 Yamaha MX 400 motorcycle I'm offering for sale has been updated with new aftermarket exhaust and a new air filter. The fork tubes are good with no leaks. This old Yamaha is a very strong runner for its age.

The rear wheel and tire needs to be replaced but the ones that are currently on there are usable. I put a an 2005 Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle seat on it as that is all I had to put on the old Yamaha MX at the time.

I always used the best premium fuel with Lucas 2 stroke mixer and it has always been kept in the garage and out of the weather. Just to let you know, this bike is a bit temperamental about starting if you don't get the fuel mix right.

I hate to give it up but I have too many other toys and need the room in my shop more than I need the Yamaha MX 400 at the moment. I'm getting too old and I'm afraid that my bones don't heal that fast anymore.


These bikes were originally designed for use for motocross back in the day to the best of my knowledge. I would highly recommend adult supervision if you are purchasing the motorcycle for a first time rider.

This would be a great low investment bike to restore or just play around in the motocross environment or for use as a dirt bike.
