I have ridden 86,000 problem free miles on my 1200 A; other than the standard service issues. Previously I have owned 11 ea. Harley's and it seems like they were always sitting in the shop. However my last 2 ea. 1200s, 1 ea. 1500 and 1 ea. 1800 have been simply pretty boring to own. I don't have any friends to visit at the bike shops anymore, I haven't called a friend in the middle of the night to come pick me and my (Harley) up at the Oregon coast and now with each Goldwing I just ride ~ ride ~ ride.
Within the Portland/Seattle area 1200 A Wing in reasonable shape still sell for $4,000 to $4,500. Just recently I was offered $5,000 however my 1200 is in showroon shape.
