The reason for the rather tight suggested age restriction is that although the sturdy engine might be able to handle an adult load but the size of the bike would prohibit use by larger or taller riders meaning that unless you want to ride with your knees pulled up to your earlobes, you might want a bigger bike.

In closing, I’ve never owned or even ridden one of these new or used Honda dirt bikes. But if I had a kid within the suggested age range that wanted to try his (or her) hand at trail riding I believe that the XR100 would be on my short list of Honda dirt bikes to test drive.
