Harley Davidson Decals for Windows, Motorcycle Gas Tanks and Helmets

We restore old Harleys in our shop and I can tell you that having the right Harley Davidson decals is just about as important as getting the paint and parts right. You can knock out dents in the sheet metal, polish and buff chrome until it looks presentable enough to put back on a motorcycle.

But if there’s a way to save used Harley Davidson motorcycle decals (or any other kind of motorcycle decal) I don’t know about it. Harley carries an inventory of replacement decals with their emblem or logo on them but there have been more than a few times that I had to use something completely different than what the bike started out with. And is the customer happy about this? Most times, not so much but there’s not a lot to be done on short notice.

After several of these disappointing situations, what I have started to so is cruise the online auctions and keep my eyes open for the rare Harley logo decals that surface from time to time so that I can add them to my collection. Call me crazy but it’s worth it to me to buy up as many Harley Davidson decals as I can just in case I need one of them. Whenever I see rare or good looking Harley gas tank decals or helmet decals I buy them on the spot. My theory is that if something looks good there is a large possibility that the motorcycle decals won’t be for sale long before somebody (like me) snaps them up.

You should hear how sad some of my customers are when they roll in and tell me they are ready to get their motorcycle repainted but hate to because they know that it will never look the same.

Then I haul out the very gas tank decal they were afraid of losing and talk about making a customer happy! You bet it’s worth spending some time shopping for old Harley Davidson emblem decals when they make you feel like a super hero that just saved the day! That may sound extreme but the Harley logo is just that important to a lot of bikers.
