Hawg Lakes Rally Round 2
by: Christine

My friends and I went back for the second time and I never dreamed that it would be possible to have more fun than I did the first time but this rally got even better!

I mean WOW! It was amazing how many improvements had been made. The organizers of Hawg Lakes really have it going on and know how to plan a rally. They had added a second beer stand, misters, a party bus and asphalt. This place is remarkable and I am very, very excited about the fall rally in October!

I was at Hawg Lakes too, and I had a GREAT time.

I checked out that guys link and it goes to someone named ASSHOLE… ahem… guess we can all figure out how he got a nickname like that.

I personally thought that for a 1st rally it was pretty exceptional. You are never going to please everyone – no matter what you do, but for all my friends (who have been to pink and sparks a few times), we really really liked Hawg Lakes. People are great everywhere – but the accommodations were more park-like at Hawg Lakes than any other rallies and that was a PLUS.

We didn’t get to see everything, because the place is so big, and we mainly stayed by the stage, but what we saw was nothing less than exceptional.

As for me and my crew – we will be back and be bringing more friends who missed out. Guess people are leery of the 1st anything. By the way $1 beer, that was a crowd pleaser…

Get a life... sign said..."NO ATTITUDES"

Sadly for you I happened to witness some of these events and they are NOT as you claimed them to be.
There are so many holes in your story that Ray Charles could see through it.
1) First Rally. Who could guarantee you would make money? The odd were likely but nothing in life is a guarantee. You’re a grown up, you know the only guarantee are, that you have to pay taxes and die.
2) “Taxi Carts never stopped to let anyone look at what we had” - These were folks from the trash crew who were gathering trash and offering people rides in-between loads. They were not there to bring you customers. If someone wanted to get off they would have; apparently they were getting to the stage or food areas or somewhere else.
3) “Min daschund Harley… and his first rally” – No dogs allowed, Lee’s stayed tied up until it was over – and you KNEW animals were not allowed. Sounds to me like Lee got tired of you breaking all the rules.
4) “went looking for Lee” yet then you say “Lee sent them for the rent”… My opinion is – you should have paid upfront then there would not be any misunderstandings. Before I receive any services for OGE or CABLE or Phone or ANYTHING… I have to pay first. That’s how it goes.
5) Then you say “Make it right for a return visit in July for the next rally”. Ummm…if it was so awful, why would you even be still considering that?

Apparently you portray yourself as a business man. As a business man you should know that not every event is going to be profitable. You take the ups with the downs. When you file your taxes you are able to leverage most of the losses. Just because you didn’t make as much money as you wanted to doesn’t mean you don’t owe booth space. Sounds to me like you wanted something for nothing. And If I was a betting girl, and I am, I would say you made more than you would have if you would have stayed at home. But I think you’re the type of man that MONEY is they priority – you could care less about the “great people and visits with old friends”. And for most of us “bikers” THAT is worth MORE than MONEY.

All I can say is it would be in your best interest to pay what you owe, because you will be missing out on a helluva opportunity to be in on one of the best rallies spots this state is going to see. I predict big things for this place – NATIONALLY. Eventually Lee will have to be VERY picky about vendors and that will defiantly be your loss.
