STRIKE LIGHTNIN' MOTORCYCLE RALLY
Grenada Mississippi hosted it's first motorcycle rally, STRIKE LIGHTNIN' MOTORCYCLE RALLY on June 9th 2006. The motorcycle event was held in conjunction with the Thunder on Water Festival. This festival has been held at Grenada Lake each year since around 1995.
Grenada Lake's always a great place to camp and hang out no matter what the season or reason, but come the 2nd weekend of June things REALLY begin to get interesting. Thunder on Water does a great job of providing all around family entertainment. There's the

Thanks to some support from the great folks at BUDWEISER who got us started with a generous sponsorship, this rally became more than biker chat. With their backing and contribution we were able to get the ball rolling and we WILL be able to build this into a twice a year event of some magnitude with lots of thirsty bikers in attendance. The company helped a whole lot with the $1000 bike burnout prize! We tried to do our part in promoting their product, and is that ever one easy job! Budweiser beer sells itself especially when you have gorgeous gals like Beth, Tiffany and Wanda in the beer barn! These ladies held it together in high style in the hot and humid 100 degree heat! Fine Southern Women one and all! Once the wheels were in motion and we knew that a motorcycle rally was indeed going to happen, some more really fine business and their owners and local motorcycle clubs pitched in with not only sponsorship money but with their on site presence and moral support. To those people we owe the success of this bike rally. To compile a complete list of those who worked tirelessly so that our area could have not just a rally but a really good one, would probably blow our server all to heck....but I do plan to give it my best shot and here's a few of the supporting companies and bike clubs just for starters.
More thanks are due to the people at Thunder on Water, our favorite Sheriff Alton Strider and his deputies at the Grenada Sheriff Department and the Corps of Engineers. We hope that we didn't give you any of the trouble you may have expected! Many motorcycle rally events calendars like the one at CycleFish will help promote even a first time rally!
