SHOULD I BUY THIS 1986 Honda Goldwing Aspencade 1200 SE

SHOULD I BUY THIS 1986 Honda Goldwing Aspencade 1200 SE or NOT? I have a chance to buy two 1986 Honda Goldwing Aspencade 1200 SE motorcycles that belonged to a father and son.

The price that they want for the pair is $400.00 which seems cheap but they are a 7 hour drive away and it would take a full day to go and see them.

When I spoke with them about the Honda Goldwings for sale, they said that one of the motorcycles runs and the other one does not.

I would like to get opinions on whether or not it would be worth my time to make the trip or do you think that this adventure be more trouble than it's worth.

My interest in the motorcycles is that I am interested in making them run again. My concerns are that they are 24 years old which could make finding parts difficult if not impossible.

I have owned both a 650 and a 250 scrambler many years ago and I like the idea of owning another Honda but I could use some help in assessing the situation and hearing from some of the experts on Honda Goldwings that may know a thing or two about the model. In your opinion should I buy this 1986 Honda Goldwing Aspencade 1200 SE or not.

I guess what I need to know is, what would be the current value or price I could sell a 1986 Goldwing for once it is in good running condition and whether or not I could move it at all in this crappy economy?

I love mine

I own a 86 Goldwing and finding parts does not seem to be a problem but if you are not mechanically inclined it can be very expensive to get work done on them. They do not retail for a lot.

well worth it....

You will love the bike when you find the right one. Unlss these have been setting out in the rain for the last 10 yrs. and are rusted to hell it should be worth it..They are a very dependable bike and parts are readily available. good ones go for3-4K if mileage is ok. I'll split the deal with ya! Good luck!
