YAMAHA STAR ROADLINER REVIEWS

There's so much about the Yamaha Star that is impressive that it's difficult to know where to start! The great part is that the design has taken a simple concept, combined it with a retro look and come up with near perfection! Do you happen to remember the art deco look of the 1920's Rocketeer? I do believe the designer of this popular bike was a fan.

2006 YAMAHA STAR ROADLINER 1900 - FOR SALE BY PRIVATE OWNER!

The 1854cc engine is air cooled, the valves are pushrod operated, but there are also modern counterbalancers and fuel injection that have virtually no vibration where the engine is solidly mounted within the frame.

Speaking of how and where the engine is mounted: consider the much lighter weight of the new 8 piece aluminum frame that is about HALF the weight of the Road Star.

This is probably part of the reason that there is such a noticeable feel of lightness about this motorcycle compared to other cruisers. The engineers give most of the credit to the center of mass kept to a low level, but whatever the reason when you are at a stop this attribute is greatly appreciated.

For older and more experienced travelers, the ride and handling are very important. For bikers with some age on them, standstills can be a problem. Some would rather stop riding altogether than switch to a trike. For these riders, this may be a viable alternative. From time to time, you can be lucky enough to find a Yamaha Star such as the one above for sale by private owner. What a way to get a future collectible bike to enjoy for years! And cheap!

A ride on twisting roads is not as hard to attain with this cruiser as with some other motorcycles of this size. With the Yamaha Star lane changing within a curve is done with ease. Fans of big bikes know that this is not always such an easy task should the need arise.

With the base model at (a very cheap) less than fourteen grand, what's not to love? There are three levels of trim

  • The base Model
  • The Midnight
  • The Roadliner S

The Stratoliner actually comes fitted with touring accessories leaving no doubt where this Yamaha Star really shines the brightest. If at all possible, I would consider getting the package that includes the saddlebags.

These saddlebags actually compliment the sweeping horizontal lines of the bike. Sell that studded leather set you have on Ebay and get the whole package. Design like this is really hard to find and I think it would a shame to integrate anything less into this bike’s profile.
