History of the 1934 Harley VLD

This was a bold and daring new design for the Harley Davidson motorcycle company, one of the few that was not taken down by the devastating market crash of 1929.

Harley-Davidson's drab olive green paint color which had been almost exclusively since 1917 was discontinued as the standard color after 1932 and replaced by more eye-catching, two tone color schemes such as black and Orlando Orange for example. Olive green did continue to be an available option as it was the preferred color of traditionalists.
