Panheads (1948-65)
Shovelheads (1966-whatever)

I don't know where you posers came up with pan/shovel for 1966-69, but my memory tells me that a pan/shovel was far more likely referring to a 1948-65 panhead lower end that had been upgraded with shovelhead cylinders and heads. NOBODY called a 1966-69 shovelhead a pan/shovel!

You can bolt a shovel top end on the 61 pan. This was done often because of the pan head oiling problems.

I agree with Panhead Ed. I have a second year pan/shovel, 1967. KNOW what you are selling.

Can't be!

"65" was the last full Panhad engine and the first electric start, if that engine is a pan shovel, it is between "66" and "69". The first shovel head cone engine was "1970".
