This is a picture of my 1973 Honda CL200 Scramble that I bought, started to restore and have continued to work on. 1973 was the only year that the Honda CL200 Scrambler motorcycle was produced.

So "Actually 74", I will give your mindless jawing about something you apparently know nothing or very little about a chance if you can put some actual documentation on here that perhaps is misguiding you. Good luck

So then how do you explain the 73 on the VIN plate that says "date of manufacture above 1973"?

Verdict???
by: Kris73

So apparently their is some confusion about what year this bike was manufactured.
All of the research as well an the vin plate clearly have Date of manufacture above 1973 is what mine says. Anyone else care to shed some light on this matter

Advice for the beginer
by: krishacker73

I have one of these bikes that I picked up over 20 years ago complete minus very few parts IE: turn signals and 1 side cover I believe? The bike seems to have good compression and rolls freely in neutral, on air that has been in the tires since the bike was parked. The owner prior to me has painted the tank black.
I was thinking of restoring the bike, but perhaps boring out the motor to give it a little more pep. Is it better to restore these bikes to original since they are so rare? or Are they really not that big a deal?
Thanks for any advice...
