Regarding vintage bikes
by: Anonymous

I see no real difference in an 1982 fxb Sturgis and an 1983 fxsb lowrider, they both have dual belt drives and basically look the same.. I know because I have an 1983 fxsb lowrider with serial numbers on the front cylinder head

FXSB vs FXS vs FXB
by: Rusty

I would agree with the first post. The 1983-85 Low Riders were FXSB. The earlier Low Riders were FXS The 83 and 84 Low Riders had twin belts like the earlier Sturgis, FXB.

The 1985 Lowrider got the new eve motor and still had the kickstart and 4 speed transmission. The Sturgis never had the fxb designation. I had two of these and loved them. I never seen a brown and gold Sturgis but I have heard claims that they exist.

Crazy!
by: Anonymous

It drives me nuts when guys mention low rider and fxb in the same breath. In the 80's a lowrider is an FXS(0r FXSB), a Sturgis is an FXB...period.

There is no such thing as a Low Rider - FXB. Nice bike though!

82 FXB STURGIS
by: Anonymous

I went 12 years between Hogs and saw an 82 sturgis in a harley davidson dealership ad,(US version 29,000 miles) with spam breather and real clean 8900.

EVEN THOUGH I feel the price may have been at least a grand too much, (it was the dealer right?) it was the only motorcycle I'd shown interest in in 12 years and it got me off my ass!

I'm proud to be the owner of this bike! It's the last one I'll ever own. It's a true (rare and becoming more rare) antique, collector's item, museum piece!

There's a retired (whatever that means) 81 behind a rope at a dealership in Memphis, TN and mine's cleaner than theirs!
