I currently own this model and year V-Star 1100 Silverado. I'm a 99.8% solo rider.

The bike runs excellent, more than sufficient for puttering about town or running on the highway.

I've added passing lights, the small engine guard, footpegs, rack on back, and it's been mistaken for a Harley more than once.

I manage to scrape the floorboards now and then, and feel totally comfortable on the bike.

I purchased the V Star used with 3K miles on her. She now just over 21K here in NE Pa and is on her 3rd set of tires. She has Michelins on her now, wearing well. You won't be disappointed with this ride.
