The backrest and floorboards are practically a necessity if you plan to do any long distance riding. The trailer hitch is the 4 point kind that bolts to the frame.

The bike/trailer set is a dream. I've had the trailer full of luggage and you hardly know it's behind you. I have added more lights on the trunk and saddlebag trim and red lights underneath the bike that looks great at night. There are also lower driving lights for added safety.
