Pink Breast Cancer Ribbon and 2 Indian Feathers Tattoo Representing Strength and Courage
I wanted a breast cancer ribbon tattoo because there are so many survivors in my family. My mom being a 26 year survivor (both breasts) has been called a walking miracle by many doctors.
Being part Cherokee, I love Native American designs and after doing some research I found out that two Indian feathers were usually painted on young Indian braves after their first battle, representing their strength and courage.
The design is usually worn as an armband but I thought what better images to put with the pink breast cancer ribbon.
I told Key,the tattoo artist from Indian Ink in Cherokee North Carolina (NC), what I wanted and he designed it.
He did it as though the feather portion of the tattoo is holding the Breast Cancer Ribbon Tattoo together. Since being around my mom when she went through her ordeal I know that it took alot of strength and courage.
Key also added some blue to the design because 1 out of every 100 men can also get breast cancer.
That tattoo is located on my right back shoulder so that if I want to show it I can and if not I don't..either way I love it!
From the webmaster:That's a great
breast cancer ribbon tattoo, Lorraine! I've never seen one as original and that had such personal meaning as yours.
