Trike Motorcycle Clutch Cable Problems

by Dave

I hope that maybe someone can help me with my Trike Motorcycle Clutch Cable Problems. My clutch cable on my 2003 Roadhawk trike gets frayed and breaks soon after having it replaced.

The cable starts to fray up towards the front of the trike where it wraps around that thing that resembles a hook or something.

My question is whether it should the cable run through some lube or something to cut down on the friction when I shift?

Lubrication helps, but messy. The best fix is hydraulic, like brakes. Master cylinder and slave cylinder
