1948 Harley Panhead

The 1948 Harley Panhead in the pictures is a titled, high number 1948 FLH Panhead motorcycle titled in California that has 1948 heads and matching cases.

The bike has a later year front cylinder and a reproduction rear cylinder. The Fat "D" rings, M-25 Linkert can be swapped for a M-35, generator with tag and right spiral functions.

It has a reproduction cable and guts for the left spiral that is currently missing guts.

The springer has the correct markings and placement of markings and it features the casting markings and correct placements of markings.

The old motorcycle's frame has no issues or mods, numbered neck lock oem, oem oil pump, OEM sheet metal, three (3) piece fenders, Cycle Ray headlight bucket, Delco Remy Horn, Monroe Shock, fuel shut-off works, restored speedometer, correct speedometer cable housing, distributor advances and retards, kicks through with good compression.

I see no repairs to either the engine or the motor cases and the transmission is correct date code and also no repairs.


"PO" owner stated that the old Harley for sale has been sitting for about nine years after being abandoned during a restoration that apparently was too involved for the previous owner who when he realized that he forgot to land the dampener (included) he lost interest in the project altogether.

Anything on the Pan that looks shiny and new is either reproduction or NOS according to the previous owner.

The rims are reproductions with numbers.


The rear fender is single divot chain cutaway that has a slot cut out maybe for a siren? I'm guessing as I am not an expert.


This Old gal has some nice bones and other than a few minor chrome pieces and the cylinders; she is all here.

The 1948 Harley Panhead is a treasure of an old motorcycle for sure!

I am fairly certain that I have forgotten to list some things, but I assure you that if that is the case that I did not do so intentionally.
