The Honda Shadow motorcycle made its debut in 1983 sporting a liquid cooled V-twin engine with an unfortunately limited number of paint color choices, black and Candy Wineberry red. However, even with limited paint color options the Honda Shadow Aero, Honda Shadow Spirit and Honda Shadow 750s and 600s quickly became a favorite of bikers everywhere.

As the popularity of the Honda Shadow grew, so did the subclasses and thankfully, more selection in paint color. The names of these subclasses are the Aero, the Sabre, the VTX and saving the best for last, the Honda Shadow Spirit which has been given very high ratings in reviews. The appearance has been raved about and the ride was as pleasurable as one might expect.
When the Honda Shadow 750 rolled out in 2001, the cheap price tag of $6,000 or less was just what the doctor ordered. The lightweight cruiser was very appealing to riders just testing the waters who didn’t want to invest a large amount of money only to have to list their Honda Shadow for sale at a loss if things didn’t work out as planned.
For reasons unknown to me (anybody want to kick in some information here?) the Honda Shadow 750 was discontinued for 2004 only to pop back up in 2005 with a new design. Just like its predecessors, it was lightweight in both physical weight and price and offered great value for the price of slightly over $6,000.
