1977 Harley Davidson Ironhead Sportster for sale

The 1977 Harley Davidson Ironhead Sportster for sale is a mostly stock motorcycle that has custom paint including the frame. The 1977 Ironhead's 1000cc motor and transmission have been rebuilt and both runs very well. Its wheels are the old school invader chrome on steel type.

1977 Ironhead has alot of chrome from the factory plus some additional chrome pieces. The swingarm and rear axle drum area of the bike as well as the heads on the motor have been chromed.

Here's the history of the ironhead; this motorcycle has had three owners including myself. Its first owner was responsible for most of the custom work which required disassembling the bike in order to paint the frame.

The next owner who owned the old Sportster for 27 years was not your average biker type. This guy apparently was not as mechanically inclined as an owner of a vintage motorcycle like this should be.

When I bought the Ironhead it was in need of a new battery, gas tank valve, footpegs,filters, brake work, chain adjustment and other small parts and adjustments including a need for oil and fluid changes and at the least two ass-busting days of cleaning and polishing from top to bottom and end to end.

The pay-off is that when this bike is parked next to a modern cruiser it really holds its own which is amazing considering its age.



The only negative thing that I could possibly say about this bike is that the tires do need to be replaced and chances are that by the time you read this I will have already taken care of this.

The 1977 Ironhead is an above average, good looking vintage Harley that is road worthy, and priced cheap enough that the money you spend on it won't keep you awake at night.
