The 2005 Harley Davidson V Rod Screamin' Eagle is run by a "big-bore" type of the standard liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 60-degree Revolution V-Twin motorcycle engine. For 2005 V Rod, new cylinders and matching pistons enlarged the bore from 100mm to 105mm, and displacement from 1130cc to 1250cc.

The cylinder heads are CNC ported for improved intake and exhaust flow, and cam timing is fully optimized. The impressive results is a 10% power increase over the Revolution engine. The engine is accessorized with new Screamin' Eagle cylinder badges and a Custom Vehicle Operations emblem on the cover of the clutch release.

The custom features of the Harley Screamin' Eagle V-Rod are kicked off with a choice of three exclusive color-and-graphics packages:

• Candy Blue and Dark Candy Blue Paint
• Two-Tone Candy Cherry Paint
• Electric Orange and Black

The colors are seen on the airbox cover, fenders and radiator shroud. The upper and lower side covers are plated with chrome. The hydroformed tubular perimeter frame has a color-matched powdercoat paint treatment. The current airbox cover offers an inset chrome console holding an LED display for the fuel gauge, indicator lights and clock face.

Controls have been updated and revised to include a new forged, chrome plated handlebar riser, clamp and instrument bracket that provides support to a tachometer and speedometer with spun-aluminum faces. The aerodynamic projector-beam headlight is mounted in a new chrome shroud and has a chrome bucket. There are 1.25-inch-diameter handlebars that feature internal wiring.
