I'm having the following 1974 Harley Davidson AMF Golf Cart Problems and I hope somebody can help me out. I just finished rebuilding the engine of the cart plus the piston, rings, bearings, seals, and so forth. The problem that I'm having is that the cart runs turbo when in reverse but when it's in forward it needs choke to get it up to speed.


I have tried every setting on forward and reverse timing and point setting between 22 to25
thou. I,ve ruled out the carb because it runs fine in reverse so it should also run good in forward.

The piston was installed with exhaust mark on top of piston facing the exhaust. Has anyone had this problem? How did you fix it?
