Plenty of purists think that it's just wrong to have anything but factory or stock Harley seats on their motorcycles. To get the look of authenticity with the comfortable ride of replacements I hear these same bikers try to rebuild Harley seats with gel inserts.
I have to admire their ingenuity and dedication to maintaining their Harleys as close to stock as possible. But if you want something a little different, that's your business and I refuse to criticize. After all, when the factory paint job gets chipped or parts fail, we have no choice but to replace the items with new accessories unless you are lucky enough to find a used factory seat in good condition for sale somewhere.

Bikers spend so much money on paint and chrome it just seems a shame that more focus is not placed on customizing their motorcycle's seats. While comfort is certainly a concern, looking sharp is part of the overall package, too. Nobody can tell much about the seat when you're riding, but when it's parked at the rally, a sharp seat on that custom ride makes such a pretty picture!
